This installation process applies to purchases made directly through our Paducah, Kentucky warehouse. Customers purchasing through an authorized Storm Shield dealer should contact their dealer for deposit, scheduling, payment, and installation procedures.

A $1,000 deposit paid to your Storm Shield representative locks in your quoted shelter price. We'll then begin coordinating your installation.
Schedule Your Property Visit
We'll arrange a property visit to determine the appropriate excavation location for your underground storm shelter.
Mark the Site & Contact 811
We'll mark the proposed excavation area and contact 811 to request utility marking and clearance before excavation begins.
Customer is responsible for identifying and disclosing any privately owned underground utilities, including private sewer lines, septic systems, or irrigation lines, which may not be marked through 811.
Schedule Installation Day
Once the site is approved for excavation, we'll contact you to arrange your installation date. Scheduling depends on shelter availability, utility clearance, weather, and installer availability.
Installation Day!
Pay your remaining balance directly to your installer on installation day.
Your installer will provide your receipt, warranty, Owner's Manual, dirt settling information, and Frequently Asked Questions.
How Do I Pay?
Your $1,000 deposit is paid to your Storm Shield representative. The remaining balance is paid to your installer on installation day.
We accept cash, checks, and credit cards. Credit card payments are subject to a 2.9% processing fee.

Yes! Financing options are available through Acorn Finance. Click the financing link at the top of our page to explore your options, or contact us for more information.
How Long Is the Wait?
Lead times vary depending on the shelter model, current inventory, production, weather, and installation scheduling. Contact us for current availability and an estimated installation timeframe.
